Hurricane Idalia Updates
Close

Dear Residents of Silver Palms

Prepare for sustained loss of power and potential loss or delays of emergency medical and fire services during the Hurricane.  This Hurricane will have lingering effects and it is very likely that power losses will be prolonged.

Maintenance personnel will not be available for service requests during the storm and in the immediate aftermath.

Please contact us after the Hurricane event has cleared the area with:

1. Roof leaks

2. Window leaks

3. Interior unit water extraction needs

4. Toilet or Sewer backups

Do not contact us regarding wet patios or lanais. We will only respond to urgent requests initially.

Do not contact us for loss of air conditioning if there is a power outage.  Call Duke Energy to report power outages.

After the storm, if there is a sustained loss of power, we will have the East clubhouse at Imperial Palms open with generator service providing cooler temperatures. This, however, will not occur until it safe for team members and residents to travel safely after the Hurricane.

Prepare in accordance with the guidelines for loss of electric service:

1. Charge cell phones and have a back-up charging method such as car charger or portable charger.

2. Fill bath tubs with water, this can be used to wash dishes or fill toilet tank to flush toilet.

3. Clean out refrigerator and transfer contents to a cooler of ice to keep food cold.  Purchase nonperishable food items to tide you over until power can be restored, such as:

Canned or dried meats,

Dry cereal or cereal bars

Nuts of any kind are great

Bread or crackers

Canned fruit, fruit cups or dried fruit

Water, fruit juices, Gatorade, Pedialyte, Coconut water and again bottled water!

We highly recommend that persons on oxygen or other electrical life saving devices be prepared to move to an alternate location where electrical backup service is available.

We will continue to update you as best as possible through the Active Building Portal and Community website.

Please be safe!
